We condemn the recent attacks on Reform synagogues in Netanya and Ra’anana and express our support for our MARAM colleagues and the Israeli Movement for Progressive Judaism. We wish “refuah shelemah” – a full and swift healing - to all those who were injured in this despicable attack.
The 20th Israeli-Palestinian Joint Memorial Day Ceremony “Choosing Humanity, Choosing Hope” that was attacked last night was a joint initiative of the Israeli Palestinian Bereaved Families for Peace with Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle - Families Forum. They work to prevent further bereavement, to create dialogue, reconciliation and peace.
On Yom Hazikaron, this day of remembrance and commemoration, we remind our fellow Jews that it is a mitzvah to choose life. We hope that all the political sides in Israel will find a way to talk without resorting to violence. And we must all join forces in the work for peace.
