Our next Kallah and AGM will take place in Vilnius from the 08/11/2026 to 10/11/2026. It will be open to all ERA rabbis and to the fourth and fifth year students from the European rabbinic training colleges.

Come and join your ERA colleagues for an exciting and relaxing retreat in Vilnius, Lithuania. 
 

Known as the “Jerusalem of the north”, Vilna was a global powerhouse of religious scholarship and the spiritual heart of the Ashkenazi world. It was a political and social hub that bustled with diverse Jewish ideologies. A major cradle of the Zionist movement, it supported a thriving network of schools and theatres. Before the Second World War about thirty percent of Vilna residents were Jewish, and the city contained more than 100 synagogues and kloyzn. 
 

Today Vilnius is a modern European city, built from the ashes of the Shoah. It is also the home to a new progressive community, Bnei Maskilim. Our Kallah will include a tour of the Vilna Ghetto and the house of the Vilna Gaon, a visit to the site of the Ponary Massacre, as well as a trip to Trakai, with a chance to discover its Karaite heritage and community. 
The Kallah will also include the ERA Annual General Meeting, as well as sessions led by colleagues and local experts. It’s a chance to get to know your European colleagues, to spend some time together, and to restore ourselves away from our communities.

100 euros (50 euros for part-time/retired colleagues) – this covers the tours and some food during the Kallah
 

Hotel

Until 1st October you can book a room at the conference hotel at the rate of 88 euros/night (double room for one person) or 108 euros night (double room for two people), breakfast included. For security reasons, you will receive the hotel details after filling in the registration form.

Getting to Vilnius
Vilnius has one international airport which is a short taxi or bus ride away from the City Centre and the Neringa Hotel. ​

Students rabbis, retired rabbis, unemployed, and part-time working rabbis benefit from 50% discount (50€).
