Message from the president of CJL Paris

On November 13, 2015, Islamists attacked the Bataclan and killed more than 120 people, most of them young people, in this performance hall. No one then dared publicly to claim to “understand” this massacre.

The day before yesterday, Islamists from Gaza carried out a massacre in Israel, attacking, among other things, an open-air performance hall, where also carefree young people were dancing. They massacred as many Jews as possible and took more than 100 people hostage, including a disabled old lady and a mother with her children aged 9 months and 3 years.

Let us imagine for a moment, given the population differences, that in our country these Islamists killed nearly 6,000 people and took 800 others hostage, including very young children. We too would be at war against terrorism, as the President of the Republic had already declared after the Bataclan massacre.

Many of us have family or friends in Israel. Some are grieving or terribly worried about their loved ones. We are all concerned. We are all united. Beyond our differences and divergences, we must show our support for Israel plunged into a terrible war. There will be many of us this evening to respond to the call of the CRIF, departure of the march from Place Victor Hugo 75016 Paris at 6:30 p.m. and to demonstrate our solidarity with them.
